Principal

George W. Welles III, Principal and founder of Imaging Futures, formerly served as Manager, Broadband Applications for U S WEST Communications (now Qwest Communications) !nterprise Networking Services Group. In his role at U S WEST, Mr. Welles managed advanced communication research and development projects as part of the internationally recognized COMPASS Lab team. He also served as an advanced technology consultant to U S WEST and its customers plus led cross-disciplinary teams to develop business cases for two multi-million dollar strategic opportunities.

In addition to his work for U S WEST, Mr. Welles has led numerous seminars on future technologies in the United States, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. He has been providing consultation and presentation services for his clientele since 1989.

His clients have included Hoffmann-LaRoche, Cargill, St. Paul Companies, Dow Chemical, Deluxe Corp., Roadway Express, Minnesota Power, USA Today, Ceridian, Computing Devices International, Kodak , 3M, Amway Corp., Boeing, Intel, Amica Insurance, Ottertail Power Company, Merck, Johnson & Johnson, Southern California Gas & Electric, San Diego Data Processing, Target Corp., Hallmark Cards, plus numerous universities and governmental organizations.

Mr. Welles is co-founder of the US Department of Defense Digital Imaging Symposium and serves as President of Allargeo Ltd. of Minnetonka, Minnesota. He regularly addresses national and international forums and recently spoke at SecureGov 2008 in Williamsburg VA

In 1999 Mr. Welles keynoted the International Communications Industries Association (ICIA) Management Conference . In April, 2000 he keynoted DVD Summit III in Dublin, Ireland plus delivered the keynote address at the IEEE Minnesota 100th Anniversary Celebration.

Mr. Welles is an active member of the Minnesota International Center, the Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association (AFCEA), the Minnesota InfraGard Chapter and the Communications Media Management Association(CMMA). He is CMMA accredited. He serves as Vice Chair of the University of Minnesota Computer Science and Engineering Department Industry Advisory Group.

He has received six international awards for his work in electronic media including a Gold Medal from the New York International Film and Television Festival and a Gold Hugo from the Chicago Film Festival. In 1996 he received CMMA's first award for lifetime achievement in communications.
